2008 Summer Mix

Although San Diego has had its share of “May Gray” lately, I didn’t let that slow down the momentum of my summer mix. This mix is pretty high energy all the way through, although the last two songs are a little bit more chill. Fall Out Boy’s version of “Beat It” is pretty incredible, and kicks off the mix just right. A couple of the songs aren’t really singles, but they are the songs I like from the CDs like “Wait a Minute” by Estelle (who could easily pass for Lauryn Hill), “Little Angel” by Hard-Fi, and “Bad Taste in my Mouth” by the Kooks. Some up and comers to watch for are: Santogold, The Kills, and Jamie Lidell (who’s song is kinda random for me, but just makes me smile). And yes, I put an Ashlee Simpson song on here. Although her album tanked, and for good reason, the title track is pretty catchy, and what can I say, sometimes summer just needs a little “pop”
